The Apple ECAD Engineering Solutions team is looking for a CAD Support Engineer, responsible for supporting, training and guiding the Apple hardware engineering team usage of the Cadence Allegro and schematic tools. You will be working with the Apple hardware designers to resolve their day to day design problems. They should be proficient in debugging issues and understanding design intricacies. You should be proficient in the PCB design, Schematic and Simulation design flows. This individual should be experienced in developing training on a variety of technical concepts including (but not limited to) PCB design and schematic design flows and delivering them successfully. Candidate should also be proficient in delivering knowledge through eLearning tools and measure its efficiency to improve the overall experience. Good interpersonal skills are essential. They should be able to present clearly and concisely, both in-person and via written instructions. The day to day responsibilities would include handling Allegro and schematic tool issues faced by the hardware engineers. They would also assist in training users in Apple's custom automation for Cadence. They will work closely with other engineering groups to help them use the tools in new ways to solve their issues.

Key Qualifications

  • 6 - 8 years work experience in Cadence tools support
  • Good knowledge of Cadence design tools especially, Allegro, Design Entry and System Capture
  • Experience with overall design flow and tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of training development and delivery
  • Customer facing experience and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good debugging ability for understanding the root cause of an issue
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with UNIX OS

Education & Experience
