The Communication Applications team is seeking a passionate and experienced QA engineer who is interested in helping us deliver quality releases to our customers on Apple's platforms. Our team designs and engineers the communication cornerstones of iOS and macOS: the Messages, FaceTime, and Phone applications. We need someone inspired to invent new ways to test, to find problems no one else could, and to build amazing products. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Working side-by-side with developers and peers to author and complete manual test Understanding technical details, use case and plan for new features prior to their announcement and release Using tools or automation to expand/improve testing coverage and efficiency Determining issue priority including reproducing steps, scope and customer impact Coordinating test efforts across multiple teams for major new features Calling out critical bugs and working with developer to prioritize fixes Providing qualitative feedback on new features Ensuring Messages, FaceTime and Phone provide a superior experience on new hardware

Key Qualifications

  • - 2 or more years experience crafting, maintaining and carrying out test plans at all application layer
  • - 2 or more years experience with different testing methodologies like blackbox, integration testing, stability/stress testing
  • - Adept at writing practical bug reports using software like Bugzilla and Jira
  • - Skilled at debugging, troubleshooting, and critical thinking on bug prioritization
  • - Experience with multi-functional projects
  • - A great teammate with the ability to act as a mentor and peer leader
  • - Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • - Experience with automation tool and framework in one or more scripting/programming languages including Python or Swift is a big plus


The Communication Applications QA team is looking for critical problem solvers to play a key role in qualifying the next releases of Messages, FaceTime and Phone. We need someone who is comfortable working in an exciting environment with changing priorities, thinking creatively and has a passion for ensuring high quality standards.

BS in Computer Science or related field, preferred, or equivalent work experience
