Join Apple's iCloud team as a Systems Architect to design and build innovative BigData systems, optimizations and services for our Analytics team. As member of the technical team, you will play a meaningful role in crafting new systems architecture and technical direction, as well as the future of existing system and services. This role requires working closely with multi-functional teams to optimally oversee the sophisticated interdependencies inherent in the project. We are looking for seasoned Engineers and Architects who are passionate about developing BigData Products using efficient algorithms to process petabytes of data with extremely low latencies. This is a small and exclusive technology team passionate about addressing all the BigData processing needs for Apple Cloud Services(ACS). We are developing a BigData Platform that can accomplish BigData ETL tasks with an intuitive, simple to use UI and easy deployment to production. In this role, you will develop Products, enhance and customize existing products to scale to the needs of ACS Systems. This role requires in-depth understanding of developing products that are highly scalable, highly available and fully Fault Tolerant. In-Depth understanding of various BigData technology concepts such as Parallel Processing in Spark, Indexing for faster BigData Queries, Query Processing using NoSQL technologies is preferred.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in Functional Programming using Java or Scala
  • Theoretical or practical experience in Hadoop/Spark systems
  • Expertise in crafting, designing and developing large scale distributed systems
  • Experience building data flow and orchestration products/services
  • Experience building Frameworks that underlie the Products such as Hadoop, Kafka etc
  • Experience developing APIs for User Defined Functions
  • Has In-Depth knowledge of Streaming Architecture and Query Processing
  • At least 4 years of experience developing products and frameworks in BigData
  • At least 2 years of experience deploying products in large-scale production environments


- Consider joining a small team writing the software which forms the foundation for some of our most exciting products and services. - Architect, design and build a Big-Data Framework that can build and orchestrate BigData ETL data flows - Develop a BigData infrastructure that is highly scalable, available with end to end monitoring capabilities - Write efficient and high quality code that supports mission critical services in production - Advise Data Engineers and Analysts on solving their BigData requirements - Develop innovative Algorithms to solve the BigData Problems - Has mastery over design patterns and their application

Education & Experience

B.S. or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
