We are seeking a collaborative, highly organized professional for the position of Environment, Health, and Safety Manager to develop, implement, and continually improve EHS programs for our Global Data Centers. We are a group of customer focused professionals and you will have extensive knowledge of environmental protection, occupational health, and physical safety programs that succeed in fast-paced and sophisticated industries. You will lead and integrate a team of EHS professionals across the rapidly growing footprint of Apple's data centers and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, compliant, and resilient operations. This position can be based in Cupertino, CA or Austin, TX

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience (10+ years) leading EHS programs in high tech, high hazard industries
  • Active knowledge of global EHS trends with expert knowledge and experience of construction safety programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of management systems that effectively assess, control, and improve EHS performance
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and influence internal customers and key partners
  • Excellent team-building skills with consistent track record to lead, empower, and encourage a team of EHS professionals
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to identify key tasks, meet expected results, and prioritization of resources
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, sophisticated EHS topics to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to balance multiple high priority projects simultaneously
  • Technical certification (CSP, CIH) preferred


You will ensure all data center employees, vendors, and contractors are provided with a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment while implementing EHS programs that follow federal, state, and local regulations while integrating EHS industry best management practices. Other responsibilities as noted: - Cultivate a culture that supports timely incident reporting, causal analysis, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence - Manage regulatory agency inspections, inquiries, contacts, and reporting in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements. Ensure regular assessments and inspections completed and communicated to the appropriate teams - Innovates the process for reporting, investigating and communicating accidents, hazards and concerns. Ensuring EHS record keeping and data integrity for accurate reporting and metrics that support safety initiatives - Support sites with emergency planning, response, and recovery, including the development of response team - Develop and implement training for all personnel to assure understanding of EHS programs - Support the development and implementation of tools and technologies that lead to continued improvements in EHS support in the field - Identify, collect, analyze, and present comprehensive EHS performance measures - Communicates effectively to all levels, from individual building occupants to executives, the progress and trends towards achieving excellence in EHS compliance
