As part of Hardware Test Engineering at Apple you will design automated test systems to calibrate and characterize Apple's novel Display panel technology. Your solutions will be highly optimized and deployed at scale across Apple's Contract Manufacturing sites. An ideal candidate will be eager to learn from history and be curious about all related fields, such as software, physics, data science, and technology fundamentals. In this role, you will enhance and develop test automation solutions, optimize workflows and deploy production level quality software. Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills are required.

Key Qualifications

  • - Mechatronics/ Automation fundamentals or a strong interdisciplinary Engineering curriculum
  • - Proven programming and scripting fundamentals (C/C++, Python, Lua, Bash, MATLAB)
  • - Familiarity with Computer Vision and its applications
  • - Experience designing and building hardware automation
  • - Familiarity with App development for MacOS & iOS (Swift, Objective C)
  • - Self-driven with excellent communication skills


The ideal candidate will have had direct experience with hardware automation. Day to day job responsibilities may include: - Developing industry-leading calibration and metrology solutions to support a range of Apple products - Automating operation of complex hardware components that work in concert to synthesize test coverage - Designing process and methodologies to qualify test hardware at scale - Identifying opportunities for automation within internal software processes and tools - Rigorous application of unit-testing to evaluate code design and drive high quality standards - Analyzing large data sets to derive insights and operationalize continuous improvement plans

Education & Experience

MSc. in CS, EE, ME or Bachelor with 3+ years of industry experience in hardware automation, or related field.
