Sodexo Healthcare is seeking a FOOD Production Manager 3 for Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center located in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Cincinnati Children's is a large children's hospital with 450+ beds and more than 13,000 employees. Unit has 'At Your Request' Room Service, large volume Fresh Inspirations Cafe, 8 off-site Cafe's, and Catering. Total managed volume is $16M with $10M in annual retail sales. 1 million on catering.
The Chef Manager will oversee the main kitchen production and will drive food safety and food quality standards. The position will report to the Executive Chef 3 and have approximately 15 direct report staff. The ideal candidate will be an experienced food service leader who demonstrates an excellent customer focus and exceptional process and systems skills. Strong culinary background with previous experience with high volume catering a plus. Will also manage evening production shift. Grill area, Action Station, and patient tray line as well as monitor and assist in food prep.
The Chef Manager will have experience and proven results in, the following areas:
Culinary Creativity: Follows culinary trends and innovates using local sustainable food sources.
Leadership: Ability to effectively manage and communicate with Culinary Staff, Key Personnel, Management Teams along with a passion and dedication to be "one of the best". Candidate must be highly engaged and hands-on in day to day operations.
Training: Must be able to articulate and demonstrate a wide ranging variety of cooking techniques and skills for the catering staff (plate presentation, quality, safety, proper culinary techniques).
Financial: Ability to manage and demonstrate proven results with food costs, labor and controllable expenses.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Emphasis on food presentation, quality, execution, menu design & implementation;
- Focus on customer / patient service excellence
- Demonstrated experience providing strong leadership, including supervision, direction and training, to a diverse team of employee
- Focus on food and physical safety and sanitation
- Experience managing food and labor cost controls to meet targets
- Understanding of food allergens and special dietary needs
Qualified candidates must have a strong background in culinary operations, systems, process improvement, human resource management, organizational skills, and a strong knowledge in food safety and sanitation are just a few of the qualities that candidates should possess. Position will manage up to 20 employees.
