As a Video Advertising Data Scientist for Apple Media Products (AMP), you will evolve our video paid media programs through causal analysis, attribution, A/B test optimization and LTV prediction modeling. Your work will directly influence the TV+ service strategy for driving revenue growth. This role will involve working with internet-scale data across numerous customer touch points, undertaking in-depth quantitative analysis and delivering impactful data products that drive key marketing decisions. The team's culture centers around rapid iteration with open feedback and debate along the way, plus collaboration with marketing, business, product, and engineering partners. We encourage independent decision-making and taking calculated risks. As an organization, AMP Data Science & Analytics collaborates with partners across marketing, business, product, design and engineering teams. Our mission is to drive innovation at Apple through deep quantitative research of the App Store, Apple Arcade, Apple Music and Apple TV, and other services.

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability in a data scientist or data analyst role, preferably for a technology or media services company
  • Strong proficiency with SQL-based languages
  • Proficient in Python or R
  • Solid experience working in marketing campaign measurement for both digital and non-digital campaigns
  • Experience with large scale analytics technologies such as Hadoop and Spark
  • Experience with standard marketing data science analysis to include experimental design, linear regression, clustering and survival analysis
  • Experience with quasi-causal analytical techniques such as interrupted time series, propensity score matching, regression discontinuity and panel analysis
  • Familiarity with hierarchical modeling
  • Experience in measuring and optimizing subscription-services campaigns preferred
  • Experience with web application libraries such as Streamlit or R Shiny preferred


Investigate large-scale data to uncover trends and identify key insights that will propel TV+ marketing strategy This role requires a scientific approach. We seek to both predict and explain Determine marketing's incremental effect on our video business, primarily through paid channels Build datasets and automated dashboards to monitor channel and campaign performance Develop effective attribution logic that will serve as benchmarks for ad delivery optimization Establish propensity models to refine campaign audience selection Partner with data engineering teams on instrumentation, ETL requirements and QA Collaborate with ML teams to develop model prototypes for eventual production Collaborate with business, marketing, finance and executive teams to generate regular presentations for C-level executives Partner with other Apple organizations on data gathering, data governance, supporting key performance indicators and democratizing data

Education & Experience

Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics or related field Masters in a related field preferred
