Apple is seeking a Business Development Data Scientist to join a team passionate about Apple services as a part of the Apple Media Products (AMP) Data Science & Analytics organization. This role provides the opportunity to work with Apple services such Apple Music, TV+, Arcade, and more. A successful candidate will help drive growth across these lines of businesses by using data science and analytic insights though business partnerships. Specifically, this role will help assess the health and performance of Apple's partner channels and grow our consumer base by evaluating various initiatives plus aligning with Business Development teams on strategic opportunities. The team's culture centers around rapid iteration with open feedback and debate along the way, plus collaboration with business, product, and engineering partners. We encourage independent decision-making and taking calculated risks. As an organization, AMP DS&A collaborates with executives and various partners across business, product, design, engineering, and marketing teams. Our mission is to drive innovation at Apple through in-depth quantitive research of the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple TV, Apple Fitness, Apple One, and other services.

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in data science or product analytics. Preferably for a mobile app business or e-commerce platform.
  • Strong passion for applied empirical analytics, data mining, and predictive analytics to develop practical insights
  • Mastery in SQL-based languages, and proficiency large-scale data languages such as PySpark
  • Proficiency in Python or R
  • Experience in measuring user experience behavior, customer engagement, and business impact using sophisticated and interpretable analytic tools
  • Strong data skill in designing instrumentation pipelines, metrics frameworks, and data products
  • Strong proponent in experimental test and design, and practical experience with interpreting observational results
  • Work with data visualization using tools like Tableau for full-stack data analysis, insight synthesis, and presentation
  • Superb communication and presentation skills with meticulous attention to detail, and capable of optimal communication between business and analytics teams
  • Capable of working with the data engineering and business intelligence teams to run workflows, design requirements, and establish project roadmap to ensure consistent data availability, quality, and accessibility
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to operate under tight schedules

Establish, improve, and socialize top line and operational metrics that accurately represent the partner's state of health Deep dives in large-scale data to identify key insights that inform product improvements and business strategy Develop, improve, and complete measurement plans for products, features, and partner channels Employ sophisticated analytic tools such as A/B testing and causal inference modeling to accurately understand the effect of multiple and often interrelated initiatives Engage with business, engineering, product management teams as a thought partner to develop and design operational improvements and deliver useful insights Partner with other Apple organizations on data gathering, data governance, democratizing data with reporting tools and supporting critical metrics

Education & Experience

Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or related field Masters in a related field preferred
