Description

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and implement preventative maintenance plan related to heating, electrical, plumbing, and geothermal system, as well as other building systems.
  • Oversee contracts related to, and the performance of: grounds keeping and landscaping, snowplowing, janitorial services refuse services and elevator and space management.
  • General upkeep of such items as lighting, leaks, noises, vent filters, smoke alarms, faucets, furnace inspections, sump pits, refuse removal, snow removal and de-icing.  
  • Ability to make repairs to windows, carpeting, flooring, plumbing, electrical, and structural fixtures.
  • Able to undertake furniture set-up or breakdown and removal as well as other general furniture and office equipment moving as needed.
  • Facilitate communication with the Facilities Department with respect to any matters requiring additional expertise.
  • Participate in fire safety inspections and make recommendations for overall facility safety improvements. 
  • On call, availability for emergency and urgent issues, as well as occasional weekend duties.
  • Submit work requests for building maintenance needs.
  • Must have general knowledge of campus procedures for emergency situations.
  • Perform/oversee any and all other maintenance items not set forth above.
  • Assist with other projects, duties, and initiatives as assigned.
  • Performance of above duties require you to be at work on campus.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or High School diploma with equivalent experience of greater than five years.
  • Must have knowledge of minor electrical installations/maintenance, plumbing installations/maintenance, taping/painting and minor carpentry work/maintenance. 
  • Must be able to climb ladders up to 24 feet, both ground and step ladders. 

Minimal Experience: 

  • Experience working with building residents, power distribution, water distribution, sanitary waste, environmental controls, HVAC, renovation, new construction management.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience overseeing and managing contracts. 

Preferred Experience:  

  • Three or more years of experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
