Prepare, enter, and review monthly journal entries for accuracy and completeness, conduct month-end close procedures, reconcile account balances to sub-ledgers and bank statements, analyze financial information and summarize financial status in income and balance sheet statements, and provide interpretation of results as appropriate.
Assist with preparation of federal, state and other regulatory reports (including but not limited to AHA Survey, Medicare Cost Report, 5500, 990, tax renditions, unclaimed property, and audits) ensuring compliance with established guidelines; keep informed of governmental regulations and procedures affecting the institution's finance and accounting procedures.
Analyze financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets and/or expenditures as appropriate.
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems, methods, and procedures; and, modify or develop and document business processes and accounting policies.
Research, respond, and resolve department inquiries or problems pertaining to financial reporting systems, ensuring compliance with HCM procedures and policies.
Prepare monthly income statements by consolidating accounting data.
Assist with preparation of yearly operating and capital budget.
Perform other duties as required.
Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field.
