Description

Facilitates patient flow by notifying provider of patient's arrival, being aware of delays and communicating with patients and clinical staff.  Assure the readiness of the reception area for each working day; open the building at the designated time and have all front desk activities fully operational at the start of business hours.

Greets patients and family members.  Enter patient demographics, insurance and billing information into the practice EHR.  Relay information to patients regarding preparation examinations and or in office procedures.  Assist patient or family members with completion of pre-registration forms.

Maintain calendar, schedules patient appointments, make patient reminder calls.  Answer telephone, scans, relays messages and manage fax server.

Verify patients insurance information and eligibility and informs patients of costs of care being provided.  Collects and post fees according to protocols; prepare and balance daily financial registers and submit all forms and fees to the fiscal department.  Obtain pre-authorizations as required by patients' heath care insurers or managed care providers.  Schedule patients for laboratory tests, medical examinations and consultations.

Respect and maintain privacy and dignity of patients; assure patient confidentiality at all times.

Performs other duties as assigned by 501a leadership.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma.  Some college preferred.
  • Experience: Previous Clinic Healthcare Front desk experience preferred.   
  • Knowledge/Skills: Organized, detail oriented, good customer service skills. Team player.
