Job Description

The Low Voltage Motor Control Center (LVMCC) Application Engineering Department has high commitment to continuous learning with a detailed training and on-boarding program in a fast-paced environment. The LVMCC Sr. Application Engineering is responsible for providing custom motor control center (MCC) solutions of varying complexities for customers in a wide range of industries. Engineers in this role will be responsible for managing multiple projects at once driven towards defined milestones. They will be collaborating with Sales, Commercial Engineering, Development Engineering, Manufacturing, and Tech Support to listen to our customers, understand their application, and combine our technical and domain knowledge to solve problems and simplify our customer's experience. This includes executing sales orders and completing the electrical and mechanical design, as well as the providing the bill of material (BOM) for manufacturing.

Principal Duties:

  • Provide technical pre and post order support with customer, sales, commercial engineering, tech support, quality, etc.

  • Review and understand customer specifications and drawings.

  • Interface with the customer on technical, schedule, and commercial aspects of the order.

  • Resolve and document exceptions and questions.

  • Develop and leverage knowledge of Rockwell products and be able to speak to the benefits of them in certain applications.

  • Create and/or modify electrical schematics.

  • Create and/or modify mechanical models of electrical component assembly.

  • Provide final factory build documents including Bill of Material (BOM).

  • Collaborate with manufacturing to provide build instructions and to resolve technical issues.

  • Support manufacturing for issues encountered during build process.

  • Provide technical leadership on larger scaled projects

  • Training and mentorship of processes, tools and technical knowledge to engineering community

  • Support engineering development as subject matter expert

  • Review and approve designs to meet complex custom applications

  • Lead functional project teams for productivity improvements in processes, tools, hardware and software initiatives

  • Opportunities to lead interaction between standard development organization and application engineering community

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent

  • Up to 5% Travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in motor control or power

  • Previous manufacturing experience

  • Experience with MS Office.

  • Rockwell Automation experience.

  • Experience with electrical (AutoCAD Electrical or similar) and mechanical (Pro Engineer/Creo or similar) engineering CAD tools.

  • Experience working with multiple projects at the same time meeting milestones and deadlines.

  • Experience working in electrical and/or mechanical engineering disciplines.
