Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it. The AppleCare Business Insights team is seeking a Data Scientist for our Product Feedback programs. You will identify insights that influence new strategies for supporting our products and software. You will also be a hands-on, passionate expert with analytics tools. Experience turning complex data into clear, actionable insights, delivered in a fast pace environment is key to success in this role. This position can be based in Austin, TX. or San Diego, CA.

Key Qualifications

  • Industry experience in a Data Science role, in the areas of Data Mining, Machine Learning, Statistics and BI Visualizations.
  • Strong business and product analysis experience.
  • Experience defining and crafting critical metrics related to product feedback.
  • High level proficiency with either R or Python, and experience implementing Machine Learning algorithms.
  • High level proficiency with SQL and Tableau.
  • Familiarity with database modeling and data warehousing principles.
  • Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to answer business and product questions with quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make key decisions on projects.


Analyzing and evaluating the performance of key business metrics related to product performance and customer support. Developing new data assets and performance metrics to scale the team's analytical capabilities. Mining data from various BI systems, analyzing the implications of the data, and delivering analyses to all audience levels across Apple, to influence product changes and enhanced customer experiences. Analyses will be delivered to a very wide audience, and you will need to instill confidence to act on the analyses you deliver. Strong communications skills are imperative.

Education & Experience

Masters in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research or equivalent professional experience. 3-5 years of analytics experience.
