Marcom is Apple's Global Marketing Communications group, which oversees all of Apple's advertising and marketing to ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications. The Closed Captioning (CC) Lead works within Technical Production Services group, leading closed captioning efforts of the Video Accessibility team. You can expect to interact with a broad cross-section of video content. Primarily, the team creates customer-facing content for apple.com (http://apple.com) accessible; this includes short product videos, how-tos shot-on-device demo content, and more. The team also supports select internal-facing content, (i.e. employee communications meetings and training video), video production by transcribing interview content, and creating master transcripts for subtitle localization. The CC Lead should be flexible and able to adapt to the various styles, workflows, and schedules different forms of content require. This role works closely with other post-production teams (especially Audio Description (AD) and Compression) as well as Video Producers, Video Delivery Managers, Interactive, and assorted Accessibility partners. A successful CC Lead will have a deep grasp of video accessibility issues as well as the video production pipeline, and will be able to confidently advise and respond to requests from a variety of sources.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of video/audio production experience
  • Deep understanding of video accessibility concerns
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with post-production workflows, including knowledge of common recording and playback formats and standards
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously according to planned timelines
  • Willingness to adapt to global delivery times and schedules
  • Consistent track record of meeting production timelines
  • Fluent in MacOS environment
  • Familiarity with the full range of Apple products and services
  • Experience with Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere desired

Description

- Coordinate with video producers and other video content creators at Apple to provide captioning and transcription services - Lead a small team of captioners to build all requested assets - Perform quality control reviews on produced captions and transcripts - Drive projects through to completion, leading workflow and coordinating process from start to finish - Act as point of expertise and advocate for video accessibility at Apple - Assist with captioning and transcription as required
