Description

Columbia County is seeking to fill 1 after hour arraignment attorney position for the 2022 calendar year at a monthly stipend of $2,916.66 and the yearly stipend not to exceed $35,000. The attorney will be a contractual, independent contractor.

After-hour arraignment coverage will be for each and every city, town, and village justice court in Columbia County during non-business hours (5:00 pm to 9:00 am), weekends and holidays.  In-person appearances are required, unless otherwise directed by the courts.

Attorney will be on call on a rotational basis with the other 3 existing attorneys. The appointed attorneys will be contacted directly by the court for individuals needing counsel at arraignment. Admission to the New York State Bar is required.
