The Town of Ransom Canyon has an opening for a full-time Operations Operator for the Public Works Department at City Hall.

The position requires a technical individual with the ability to communicate with the public and must have strong knowledge of water and sewer system operations and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requirements.

Additional job requirements include the ability to perform tasks related to water and sewer utilities such as treatment of water and wastewater, removal of sludge, street repair, mowing, dirt work, and maintenance of pumps and motors. This position must have knowledge of principles and practices of water supply, treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment, laboratory procedures for water and sewer testing, and industrial safety practices.

This position will report directly to the Director of Public Works. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently are required. This position must have the ability to drive a vehicle, operate heavy equipment skillfully and safety, make field repairs, follow oral and written instructions and work under noisy working conditions.

Qualified applicants should have at least one year experience in operation and maintenance of water plant and wastewater plant equipment; preference of candidates with Class D Water and Wastewater Licenses issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and a valid Texas drivers license. Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
