SeniorManager Leadership Development

Purpose of role: The SeniorManager Leadership Development, reporting into the Director Learning and Leadership Development, will lead, design and drive leadership programs for Sonova globally, working in close collaboration with HR colleagues and business leaders.

This role must bring both strategic vision and program design expertise, working hands-on in the design, development, deployment and evaluation of innovative and multi-platform learning and development programs that improve performance and engagement levels across the organization.

The facilitation of group and customized leadership programs/ journeys will play a dominant part in this role.

Main Tasks and Responsibities:



  • Develop and design group and customized leadership programs / journeys throughout various career stages, experience levels and professions, in alignment with Sonova Leadership Principles


  • Facilitate and/or present leadership development programs, workshops and webinars including assessment, 360 feedback debriefs and coaching leaders


  • Champion a learning culture that focuses on putting the customer at the heart of learning strategies and policies, and create solutions that drive engagement, performance, productivity and innovation


  • Build and implement specific initiatives for talents and strategic capabilities in focus (critical skills, succession planning, diverse talents), in close collaboration with other Talent CoE SMEs (inclusive leadership, resilience, talent management etc.)


  • Act as a strategic L&D partner with senior leaders and local HR teams to understand business needs and contribute to relevant, integrated learning and leadership development solutions to support business strategies and critical business needs


  • Develop, design, produce and execute materials to meet leadership development needs and set harmonized L&D standards


  • Design and establish benchmarks that measure the impact and effectiveness of learning and development programs on business performance, and create corresponding enhancement plans
  • Provide seamless integration of workshop facilitation with the use and advancement of learning technologies, including, but not limited to: online facilitation, on-the-job development, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials, building and leveraging the Learning Management System, mobile, eLearning, and social learning technologies, integrating adult learning theory into multi-platform leadership development solutions


  • Select and manage external vendors, in line with the Delegation of Authority (DOA), to achieve strategic initiatives balancing cost-to-build and cost-to-purchase against time and impact


  • Identify, train and certify internal partners as SME's and Facilitators


  • Oversee organization of training venues, logistics, transport, accommodation as required to achieve efficient training attendance and delivery


  • Be a champion for innovation in the leadership development space; know what best in class companies are doing and look to integrate those best practices


  • Ensure appropriate controls and reporting are in place to manage resources, planning, budgets, risk and compliance processes and demonstrate business impact


  • Frequent Travel required


  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned



Education and Skillset:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Coaching/Mentoring or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 1O+ years in Learning & Development
  • 5+ years in management positions
  • Ability to identify intercultural needs and challenges and adapt accordingly
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Ability to interact across all levels of the organization and bringing people together
  • Coaching and counseling skills
  • Professional network outside the organization
  • Stakeholder management, Contextual leadership
  • Creative/innovative, conceptual, solution oriented, experience with assessment & 360 feedback tools


A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova
