Job Description

Pheresis Phletomist | Blood Donor Room

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm with 1 evening shift (12:00pm-8:00pm) per week with Sunday rotation

Memorial Sloan Kettering is currently looking for a Pheresis Phlebotomist to join our outstanding Blood Donor Room team! The Pheresis Phlebotomist will perform routine technical procedures in the Blood Donor Room and collaborate with the nursing staff. The Blood Donor Room offers a full range of services for the collection, processing, and testing of blood components prepared from both whole blood and apheresis donations acquired from volunteer, autologous (self) or directed (patient designated) donors.

You Will:

  • Obtain units of blood from donors and platelet collection via apheresis
  • Conduct donor medical interviews to determine suitability for donation
  • Provide post donation care
  • Perform instrument and product quality control procedures

You Need:

  • Requires High School Diploma and or equivalent
  • Certificate demonstrating completion of medical assistant or phlebotomy training program
  • Minimum one year of strong phlebotomy experience
  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills necessary
