Job Description

Digital Ventures Lead

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking a Digital Ventures lead to join our team. You will Identify, vet, and execute partnerships in the clinical innovation space. Includes both external outreach and deal sourcing, as well as internal process management such as contract negotiation, IP evaluation, and securing internal governance approvals. Serve as a bridge between the sponsor (e.g., clinical research), DigITs, and SITD, socializing potential and in-flight deals to ensure stakeholder engagement and transparency.

Role Overview:

    Support MSK's goal of leading in R&D by maximizing the value and utility of our unique data.
  • Leveraging operational data to accelerate MSK's mission; Enhancing/curating operational data from clinical care and clinical trials to foster partnerships in clinical care enhancement.
  • Bring in commercial research partnerships that leverage MSK's oncology data and research sandbox.
  • Source and execute partnerships with clinical trial technology firms
  • Help to create and execute technology expansion strategies.
  • Serve as primary commercial lead for OncoKB or similar platform, providing support for the sales and contracting operations and oversight of legal and finance operations needed to maintain and grow platform.
  • Lead large customer license negotiations and lateral expansion, new customer identification and pursual, and sales and license renewals.
  • Strategize partnerships with selected licensees to increase user footprint and improve usage adoption.
  • Provide reporting, forecasting, and pipeline projections for current and future commercial platforms.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience in technology transfer, including identifying suitable partners, negotiating agreements, and fostering collaborations to translate research into clinical applications.
  • Demonstrable experience in commercialization strategies and licensing operations. This includes negotiating licensing agreements, identifying new commercialization opportunities, and managing intellectual property assets.
  • Strong background in data management, analysis, and curation, particularly in oncology research settings.
  • Awareness of legal and financial operations related to technology transfer and commercialization activities within an academic medical or life science center setting. Knowledge of university policies, intellectual property regulations, and financial aspects of licensing agreements.
  • Ability to manage relationships with industry partners, clinicians, researchers, and other stakeholders involved in oncology technology transfer initiatives which includes understanding the needs of end-users, providing support, and gathering feedback to improve technology adoption and utilization.
  • A strong background in oncology research, healthcare, or related fields, a plus.
  • Familiarity with the oncology research landscape, clinical trial processes, and emerging technologies in cancer care

Core Skills:

  • Familiarity with clinical trial operations and digital technologies
  • Experience in partnering, BD, or technology transfer.
  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated experience conducting meetings and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to work well between functions and across all levels of the organization.
