Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking an Inpatient Pharmacist to join our team!

Role Overview:

    Serve as a fully integrated member of the Pharmacy Department to provide advanced clinical pharmacy services.
  • Oversee IV preparation and compounding extemporaneous formulations.
  • Responsible for reviewing and processing inpatient non-chemotherapy and chemotherapy orders.
  • Will be required to rotate/cover UCC, PEDS, ICU, M18 & R5 Clean Room

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid NY Pharmacist license
  • Pharm.D (or equivalent)
  • Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to develop a good understanding of pharmacy systems.

  • Able to adopt a culture centered around patient safety and cleanroom sterility.
  • Able to make sound judgments even with incomplete information.
  • Able to suggest changes to workflow to improve patient care.

  • Substantial understanding of computer and pharmacy systems
  • Supportive attitude toward others' beliefs and ideas

Additional Information:

  • Flex schedule - 7 shifts in 14 days to meet departmental needs
    • Shift hours: Starts as early as 7:30 pm, ends as late as 8:00 am. 11.5 hour shift.
  • Every other weekend, or equivalent
  • Required to work some holidays
  • Onsite
  • Location: 1275 York Avenue
  • Reporting to Inpatient Pharmacy Manager

Pay Range $60.93-$100.62

The Pharmacy Department uses a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety. We provide comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings through a decentralized satellite pharmacy services model. The department has one of the most robust set of electronic clinical resources in the country and a dynamic medication safety program.

Across the Center, we review 1.5 million orders per year and dispense over three million doses of medication annually. The Pharmacy Department has more than 450 employees with approximately 300 pharmacists servicing patients in 26 pharmacy satellites, including inpatient unit-based satellites in all oncological specialties.

Memorial Sloan Kettering provides free, live, onsite, accredited continuing education pharmacy courses to help keep your credentials up to date. The department will also sponsor national and state membership for pharmacy organizations and appropriate off-site educational meetings.
