The Opportunity

DAT is looking for Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO.

This team focuses on our ratings applications which process hundreds of thousands of records to provide pricing insights for the North American trucking industry. You would be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and supporting some of our most critical systems. As well as these responsibilities, you'll be working with new technologies to forward our business initiatives and modernize some of our legacy components.

Candidate profile



  • Work with a small agile team of software developers and test engineers.
  • Collaborate with architecture groups to guide and define the technical direction of new and existing applications and capabilities.
  • Leverage AWS to deliver cloud-native solutions.
  • Write unit, integration, and functional tests.
  • Document software systems and project tasks.
  • Participate in design & code reviews.


What You'll Do



  • Work across the stack from UI to database
  • Leverage AWS to deliver efficient, cloud-native solutions
  • Write unit, integration, and functional tests, and guide others in doing the same
  • Document software designs and project tasks
  • Review functional requirements and analyze their impact on schedule and software design
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and direction to other team members
  • Design and develop REST APIs and other code that is reliable, maintainable, and extendable
  • Participate in design/code reviews
  • Translate business needs and requirements into technical specifications
  • Review functional requirements and analyze their impact on schedule and software design
  • Document software designs and project tasks
  • Work with team members to improve development processes and practices


The Skills You'll Need



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience in software development with demonstrated experience working full stack
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written communication skills
  • Adept at effectively working with professionals from a wide range of disciplines
  • Passionate about delivering high quality results
  • Committed to ongoing professional development and learning
  • Modern object oriented scripting languages such as Javascript, Typescript, or equivalent
  • Applied Knowledge of Modern Server Frameworks such as Node, Spark, or Spring Boot
  • Applied Knowledge of Modern Web UI Frameworks: Angular
  • Practical experience with Cloud-Native Development such as in AWS, Azure, or Google
  • Applied Knowledge of Microservices established best practices
  • Applied Knowledge of REST APIs established best practices
  • Practical experience of Design Principles and Patterns
  • Experience with containerization and clustering technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with object-oriented/functional programming languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
  • Applied Knowledge with unit testing
  • Applied Knowledge with Agile and at least one agile methodology such as SCRUM, XP, or SAFE
  • Preferred Skills:

    • AWS native technologies such as Kinesis, RDS, Lambda, SES/SNS/SQS, API Gateway, S3, Route53
    • Experience lifting and shipping legacy applications from on-premise / co-located data centers to cloud platforms.
    • Experience developing streaming, real-time, data processing pipelines.





For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, theminimum salaryfor this role is $135,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
