If so, then we want you on our team! We are seeking a Mechanical/Systems Engineer to join our Launcher Systems Engineering section. You will join a team of multi-disciplinary staff who are developing new approaches for analysis of deployed systems and the development and integration of new system concepts onto submarines. We help our sponsors and the associated prime and subcontractors maintain existing deployed Navy systems, develop new systems and modifications to existing systems, and embrace the changes necessary to move from a traditional engineering mindset into the world of Model Based Systems Engineering / Digital Engineering.

As a Mechanical/Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Gain a deep technical understanding of submarine launcher systems and other shipboard systems and use that knowledge for weapon system analysis.
  • Support system concept development, including traditional Systems Engineering tasks such as Requirements, Functional, and Physical Architecture development for complex systems.
  • Engage directly with our Navy sponsor and associated prime and subcontractors to provide oversight of hardware production efforts.
  • Participate in a wide variety of test and evaluation efforts. This could include full scale system tests conducted either at government owned test facilities or onboard Navy platforms and associated data analysis.
  • Get involved with diverse working groups across both government and industry.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Have 3+ years of relevant experience with Navy systems, particularly focused on product lifecycle managementor Systems Engineering.
  • Are willing and able to travel occasionally (5%) to US Navy facilities, bases and contractor sites.
  • Are able to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
