Overview

Responsible for overseeing and maintaining all operational activities within the Record Review Department



Responsibilities

    Assists staff with the investigation and resolution of problems related to donor records or blood products.
  • Monitors compliance reports and works with the Manager, Record Review to monitor and trend quality indicators.
  • Performs audits on Record Review personnel to ensure quality is consistently maintained.
  • Ensures all donor paperwork for Donor Services are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assists with ensuring operational audits are completed and communicated to appropriate Regional Directors.
  • Ensures positive customer support is provided by all Record Review staff to donors and donor services staff during field inquiries; resolving donor eligibility questions; and verifying information directly with donors and third parties.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to maintain current knowledge and understanding of all related Donor Services SOP manuals appropriate for job functions
  • Ability to maintain the Record Review SOP Manual and serve as a resource to provide guidance and assistance to Record Review and Donor Services staff
  • Ability to read and understand the content of technical procedures and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to organize work for timely completion
  • Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to delegate, manage and supervise effectively
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand standard English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Skill in operating office equipment
  • Ability to commute with personal transportation
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
