Job Title: HR & Recruiting Specialist

FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt
Reports to: HR Director

Schedule: FT, Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Supervises: N/A

Closing Date: 5/26/2024

Rate of Pay: $28-$30/hour

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Function: The HR and Recruiting Specialist provides support to the HR team and IM Division for its people management needs. This includes the recruiting process and data entry for all related postings into the TSAMM system, ongoing back-up for compliance tracking and employee life cycle needs. The HR and Recruiting Specialist works collaboratively with the HR Team to support personnel management, orientation, scheduling, employee relations, employee health and welfare benefits and policy matters. Will act as liaison between the Intermountain employees and supervisors on recruiting and TSAMM creation. The position requires familiarity and compliance with Salvation Army policies, practices, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Create and process TSAMM items to HR Director for; HR1s, HR 3s, HR7s, HR12s, (new positions, new hires, relatives, minors); insuring items are accurate, complete and conform to Salvation Army requirements.


  • UltiPro: Recruiting Gateway, post all positions internal/external linking external with correct coding for UKG Recruiting Gateway applications. Onboarding Gateway for porting all candidates into UKG system. This includes conditional offer letters, new hiring paperwork, and all onboarding documents. (CRs, NSOPWs, BGs, MVRs) Work with HR Director to implement Recruiting Gateway, Onboarding Gateway, and online application/scanning/emailing options. Work with HR Director to communicate to THQ on needs/steps/implementation.


  • Troubleshooting, main contact point for UKG (reporting, modules, updates, etc.).
  • Managing Applicants by sending to Hiring Managers weekly for review and "coding" of status/interest level.
  • Closing postings upon position being filled.


  • Assist with procedures and policies, general Q& A and support to the field and DHQ in regard to Human Resources.
  • Serve as back-up for other HR employees during absence, vacation, or busier periods. This includes scanning/uploading to UKG/HC file. Back-up for Gen 1 and HR Generalist for TSAMM review, UKG data entry and completing BCs, CRs, NSOPWs and MVRs.


  • Will maintain confidentiality in all matters considering the nature of Human Resources work and scope.
  • Send the COEPA Email to HR Director every 21 days or less, to include all newly hired, promoted, transferred employees in the Division, including location, name, title and date of change.


  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualification and Education Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, preferred along with one year's experience in Human Resources or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communication, writing, and organization. Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity. Good reasoning and sound judgment abilities required. Resourcefulness, ability to work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines. Ability to maintain and promote a professional work environment.
  • Minimally 21 years of age and possessing a valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Software-related skills: Working experience with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook) required. Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.
